Our Nativity service for December 4th 2022
O come let us adore Him
This week, why not set aside some time to praise the Lord for all He has done for us already? Then say to Him, “Speak, Lord. I am listening.”
Are you feeling tired and overwhelmed? Then if you are, Jesus says to you today, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest’ (Matthew 11:28). So what are you waiting for?
This week I was challenged by this quote by Charles Spurgeon, “The greatest joy of a Christian is to give joy to Christ.” This set me thinking. How can I bring joy to God? I think we may find the answer in Matthew 28:19-20. We have our instructions, so we really have no excuse for not obeying them.
During this week, please reflect on the quote by Cynthia Ozick who is a short story writer, novelist and essayist. She is 94 years old!
“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.”
This week, please reflect on this quote from Steven Furtick, “Great moves of God are usually preceded by simple acts of obedience.” As the hymn writer reminds us, “Trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
